About Us-The Swarm Story

The Oklahoma Swarm, is an AAU affiliated organization and a 501 (c3) organization.  The Swarm  was founded in 2007 as a single girl's 4th grade basketball team.  Since that time we have grown to be the largest, most successful competitive girls program in the state.   the Swarm included 17  teams. Those teams have won over 30  state AAU titles, and numerous National Championships including Adidas, Mid America Youth basketball and Prime Time Sports.

As of 2024 over 120 Swarm players earned an opportunity to play in colleges throughout the region and  across the country including New York, Florida, Arizona, California, Colorado, and Alabama.

Our success on the court is a direct reflection of the way we approach basketball and the life lessons we hope to instill in our players.  That is that all things are possible if you are willing to dream, set goals, work hard and believe in yourself and your team.  That belief is summed up in the Swarm’s motto, “Dream, Believe, Achieve”.

To meet our growth and provide the Swarm a home base for practice, training and games we opened The Hive in April 2016.

Our Mission

We believe that competitive sports when done right teaches youth life lessons that they don't adequately learn anywhere else.    Through basketball girls and boys can learn skills that will serve them well beyond the court, in school, work and life.  Therefore, our mission is to provide players with a positive environment to develop individual, team and life skills that will prepare them to succeed in basketball, school and life.  

• Our motto is "Dream, Believe, Achieve" and accordingly we stress the importance of goal setting, hard work and commitment to improvement and the team.  
• We also believe that no player should be denied this opportunity due to financial hardship and, therefore, offer financial assistance when warranted.  

Finally, there are valuable lessons learned by giving back to the community and we participate in several volunteer activities such as breast cancer awareness, food drives, etc. ​

Our History

The Swarm was born in 2007.  We started at the YMCA with the intimidating name, "The Flying Nachos".  We pressed and played up-tempo and after a game an opposing parent came up and asked our name.  He said we should change it to the Swarm for the way we  "swarmed to the ball."  So  it was and  we became the SWARM.
